BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dance (equivalent to 3 A Levels)
BTDA and ISTD Vocational examinations in Classical Ballet, Tap and Modern Jazz (Also worth UCAS Credits)
Duration: 2 years.
Course Fees: Free for 16-19 year olds.
Stage Right in partnership with Meridian Sixth Form offer a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance)
This two year course is the equivalent to 3 A levels and will include training in dance, singing and acting and will be heavily performance based. Students will develop their craft by progressing their dance, choreography and performance skills through the medium of classes, workshops, rehearsals and performances, giving them a full understanding of the disciplines and the backgrounds behind them whilst perfecting their technique. The course will be taught by a highly qualified and experienced faculty with regular guests teachers from the West End and Commercial Industry.

A recognised alternative to 6th form and A Levels
Our level 3 extended diploma is the equivalent qualification to 3 A levels, really advancing your options for further education. If you decide a vocational dance college isn’t for you, this qualification will open the doors to university degree study in any subject at all.
All training will take place at our own beautiful premises which house 4 fully equipped dance studios, snack bar, dance wear shop and male and female changing.
Students will have numerous performing opportunities as part of the Level 3 Course. They will receive guidance on choosing and help preparing for Vocational Dance Colleges/University. Gain dance related work experience and have the opportunity to regularly work with leading names in the Performing Industry as well as our highly qualified and experienced resident teaching faculty.

The course will prepare students for further education at University/Dance and Musical Theatre Colleges. We will assist students with their audition material and direct them towards the courses that we feel would suit them. Many of our former students are working professionally on Television, in Music Videos, on Cruises and are seen in Theatres in London’s West End and all over the world. Some are now teachers in their own right. Most recently former students could be seen dancing at the Brit Awards, on X Factor and performing in the National Tour of Cabaret!
The course is held at Stage Right’s state of the art studios in Royston Hertfordshire. All studios have purpose built dance floors, mirrors and fixed barres.

Careers trips and various professional performing opportunities present themselves during the course.
Work experience opportunities are available to students through Stage Right’s evening theatre school. Students have the option to take vocational examinations in Ballet, Tap and Modern with the British Theatre Dance Association and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance if they wish. These examinations are also worth UCAS Credits which can assist with University placements.
Entry to the course is by audition, however we are looking for passion and potential in our students not perfection!
Students will need to purchase basic uniform and dance shoes. Should students opt to take any vocational examinations in Ballet, Tap or Modern an entry fee will be payable.
