Kerry Started dancing at the age of 3 at the Wendy Truett Theatre School, this was short lived as Kerry’s choreographical skills where already strong and she was not ready to conform to the structure of the class. After watching her sister dance in her first show Kerry rejoined the school at the age of 12, worked extremely hard and never looked back.
Kerry is a highly qualified and experienced teacher. Starting her teaching career in 1994 at “The Truett Theatre School“ Royston and then adding “The Valentine Robinson School of Dance” Willingham and “The Carolyn Parker School of Dance” Huntingdon. Kerry provided workshops for North Hertfordshire District Council for a number of years on their play schemes and choreographed and guest taught at many other schools throughout Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Essex before becoming Principal of Stage Right in 1998.
Kerry has Teaching certificates in Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz, Lyrical and Speech & Drama with the British Theatre Dance Association. She took her Licentiate Freestyle Exam with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing at Len “Strictly Come Dancing” Goodmans Dance Centre in Dartford. Kerry also has Associates in Ballet, Tap and Contemporary Modern Jazz and Licentiate Freestyle with the International Dance Teachers Association.
As principal of Stage Right Kerry found the school its first purpose built Melbourn Street home in 2000. After eleven years Kerry purchased an old warehouse in Lumen Road which has undergone extensive refurbishment to provide students with larger purpose built facilities.
In 2014 Kerry established Stage Right College originally in partnership with North Hertfordshire College. Students can now train extensively in Royston and gain a Level 3 Qualification which is the equivalent to 3 A Levels.
When not teaching Kerry enjoys spending time with her husband and 4 children.
